design is a core belief.”

“Houses are a love story,” says Anu Jain, founder of design studio Atelier Oleana. Known for creating refined and luxurious spaces, Jain shares her firm “holds a deep appreciation for a home’s historical significance,” and “strikes a harmony and balance between modern and traditional elements.” Atelia Oleana creates stunningly sophisticated residences throughout San Francisco and beyond.
With the design of her chair, Jain sought to create a cozy, lounge-like piece, one ideal for entertaining, for game nights or to stand alone as a conversation piece. She chose Backgammon Cut Velvet in Green by Mary McDonald for Schumacher, and Rocky Performance Velvet in black. “The inclusion of cut velvets, though challenging to work with, adds ornate beauty to the design,” says Jain “Paired with the chair’s Gio Ponti-inspired avant-garde design, it creates a timeless yet striking look.”
Inspired from an early age by the design of home, Jain shares that the right print can evoke childhood memories, observing that “Revitalizing furniture is deeply personal.”
