Designer Spotlight: Sarah Brandt Interiors
Meet Sarah Brandt, the visionary behind Sarah Brandt Interiors and a rising star in the Bay Area design scene. With a background in textile design and a passion for creating homes that feel both personal and timeless, Sarah brings a rich, layered approach to her work. She specializes in weaving together texture, color, and history—breathing new life into spaces while honoring the stories they hold.
From Textiles to Interiors
Sarah’s journey into interior design began with her love of textiles. After earning a BFA in Fiber Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design, she built a career in textile product development, buying, and planning for renowned home retailers like Macy’s Home and Williams-Sonoma. But her true calling lay in crafting entire spaces, not just the materials that fill them. In [year], she founded Sarah Brandt Interiors, a design firm dedicated to creating homes that are both functional and deeply meaningful.

Reviving the Past, Designing for the Present
At the heart of Sarah’s design philosophy is a deep appreciation for the history embedded in a home. She believes that great design doesn’t just look beautiful—it tells a story. A perfect example of this came to life in a recent project where Sarah helped a client seamlessly blend modern design with cherished family heirlooms.
The project began as a full-house furniture plan with a mid-century eclectic style, but as the design took shape, the client felt a growing hesitation about parting with her mother’s furniture—pieces rich with sentimental value. Sarah recognized the significance of these pieces and saw an opportunity to honor their history in a fresh, intentional way.

A Thoughtful Transformation
Instead of replacing the heirloom furniture, Sarah embraced its potential. She and her client tracked down eight vintage dining chairs—once scattered among family members—and reunited them with the original teak dining table. Through expert restoration and sleek black leather upholstery, the set was given a striking new look while maintaining its connection to the past.
The transformation extended beyond the dining set. Inspired by the process, the client chose to restore a media console, carefully color-matched to the dining furniture, creating a cohesive and harmonious flow throughout the home.
By thoughtfully preserving these meaningful pieces, Sarah didn’t just refresh a space—she reinforced the idea that home is more than just furniture; it’s a collection of stories, memories, and personal history.
